First of all, I wish you a wonderful day full of smiles and creations!!! The past week was a really beautiful in my blog, since we had the first Coffee Break and Chat game and it was really "chatty" one! Beloved ladies all of them bloggers with amazing blogs were "discusing" about plants and not only. This is why I love blogging!!!
And one of my favorite bloggers is the romantic Katerina...why romantic? She loves so much her things that she even cannot though away her old keyboard! So she created with its keys masterpieces!!! Additionally is the lady that you can call ...love to clean the house!!! smart ideas to clean everything!

For
starters I want to thank my beautiful hostess for having me in! I‘ve written
this post in order to help you clean and maintain her gorgeous creations!
Our
skin contains oil and when this oil mixes with the environmental dirt you can
have an unhealthy and unbeautiful result on your jewelry! Moreover, over time
our jewelry gets attacked by skin products such as lotion, perfume, hairspray,
makeup etc. All these residues can cause your beautiful jewelry to lose their shine,
and possibly damage the structure.
As
you understand, it is very important to clean your jewelries in order to preserve them. When handling and cleaning your pieces, make sure to be especially careful to prevent any accidental
damage. Our jewelries are beautiful but fragile and can be easily scratched. They
need proper care on a regular basis to maintain their beauty!
Before
you start!
When
cleaning your jewelry have in mind that it is always better to under-clean them
than to over-clean them! If you have any doubts, first try the method on a small
piece of the jewelry and see the results. The best way is to ask Zina about the
materials used in the making of your piece and the best method for cleaning it!
Please
be extremely careful of losing a piece down the drain. Use a strainer, a tray, a bowl etc. to put
your jewelry in or secure the sink stopper. Have in mind that a stone can be
holding up on dirt or the glue may have turned bad over time.
Let’s
Start!
Our
Materials:
· - Toothpaste
· - Soft
brush or toothbrush
· - Soft
cleaning product (like hair shampoo or liquid detergent for clothes without
bleach)
· - Nylon
stocking
· - Soft
cloths
· - Hair-dryer
Apply
the toothpaste on your jewelry and gently rub it with your hands. Use the
toothbrush and scrub the difficult in-between spots. You will see that your
hands and the toothbrush are starting to turn grey or black. That’s the dirt
coming off!
Once
you are done scrubbing, place the piece under tap water to rinse off the toothpaste.
Use the toothbrush to help you rinse the difficult spots. Check your jewelry
for any lost pieces.
When
you’re done, use a soft-cloth and gently pat to dry your jewelry. To be
completely sure that all the moisture is gone, use the hair-drier and give it a
blow in low heat scale.
Finally,
use another soft-cloth and rub the jewelry in small circular motions until it
begins to shine!
Carefully
place your jewelry in a nylon stocking and secure it. Fill a bowl with warm
water and add a small portion of the soft cleaning product of your choice. Stir
to combine them and then put inside your stocking jewelry “bag”. Allow it to
soak for about 10 minutes.
Take
it out of the stocking and put it on a soft-cloth. Check your jewelry for any
lost pieces and also for any remaining dirt residue. Use the toothbrush really
carefully to clean any difficult spots.
Rinse
the jewelry in cool water. Do not use tap water if it is hard because it can
leave spots. If you have hard tap water use bottled or distilled water instead.
The
following two steps are the same as before.
When
you’re done, use a soft-cloth and gently pat to dry your jewelry. To be
completely sure that all the moisture is gone, use the hair-drier and give it a
blow in low heat scale.
Finally,
use another soft-cloth and rub the jewelry in small circular motions until it
begins to shine!
Extra
Precautions
To
prevent you pieces from scratching each other, store them inside a jewelry box
at a moderate temperature, as some materials are sensitive to heat and cold. A good
tip is to apply skin and other beauty products before you put on your jewelry.
Also avoid bathing, house-cleaning, gardening, sleeping etc. while wearing your
jewelry, as these are perfect opportunities to lose or damage your pieces.
I hope I gave you some ideas and general instruction,
but if you’re having any doubts about how to clean your jewelries, the best way
is to just wipe them clean with a soft, dry brush or cloth.

Ok..I have to admit that so far if I wanted to clean anything of my jewels I was taking them to a specialist! But now I will definitely d it by myself!
